Jim Jannard, the well-known American businessman, has launched the world’s first AR/VR smartphone on 6th of July, 2017. Jim Jannard is the establisher of Oakley, an eyeglasses company and RED which creates high-quality cameras.
Now RED produced its brand new smartphone named Hydrogen One, which has been created on Android operating system. Jannard told in an interview with Forbes that Hydrogen has the possibility to quickly change 2D content into 3D or even deliver engaging games without requiring a VR helmet or AR glass. RED has created such high-end cinematic cameras which have been used for shooting Avatar and The Martian.
According to Jim Jannard, they spend three years of hard work for building the AR/VR mobile phone. RED will deliver immersive documentaries, games and movies from its own channel, and Hydrogen owner will be capable of inserting their content as well. Due to the RED’s special algorithm users can translate stereo sound into a high-end audio in the music section of the smartphone.
VR smartphone will give people an opportunity to capture still and motion pictures also holographic images. Jannard said that Hydrogen One unlocks a new way for AR/VR with the one single product.
Those who are interested in having this new mobile phone can pre-order from the official website of RED. The Hydrogen one which will be ready for purchase at the beginning of 2018 comes with two types: Titanium coating $1,595 and Aluminum $1,195. Jannard guaranteed in his statement that they will not manage to deliver all the order because of limited edition and added that the cost might be changed after the production.
